Step 1: Student Application

Kindergarten Application Deadline & Grades 1-8 Priority Application Deadline: Tuesday, December 1st, 2026; with notification of admissions decision by Wednesday, December 16th.

Final Application Deadline, grades 1-8 only: Monday, February 1st, 2027; with notification of admissions decision by March 3rd.

Step 2: Schedule Student Assessment

As a part of the online admissions application, you will register for a student readiness assessment screening date. The details below are for informational purposes, in order to schedule a student assessment you must do so within the online application.

Kindergarten

Students entering Kindergarten will participate in a readiness screening.

Kindergarten Readiness Screening Date: Wednesday, December, 2nd, with several sessions from which to choose.

grades 1-8

Students entering grades 1-8 will be evaluated, reviewing readiness in math, reading, writing, and grammar at the appropriate grade level. 1st-8th Grade Readiness Testing Date: Thursday, December 3rd with two sessions from which to choose.

 

Step 3: Family Conversation

After reviewing your application materials and your child’s student readiness assessment, Admissions will contact families invited to continue in the admissions process to arrange a Family Conversation (parent interview). This conversation gives us an opportunity to learn more about your child, discuss Hunter’s Christian mission and educational approach, consider the partnership between home and school, and answer any questions you may have.

 

Step 4: Acceptance and Enrollment

Upon a student’s acceptance to The Hunter School, a letter will be sent to the family along with the school covenant and an enrollment contract. The signed school covenant and the enrollment contract must be returned along with a $1,000 deposit by the date stated in the acceptance letter.

Tuition payments begin in June and may be made in one, two, or eleven payments.

A sibling discount is offered for each younger sibling of a current student. When one child in a family attends The Hunter School, the second receives a 10% discount off the full tuition; the third receives a 20% discount, the fourth a 30% discount; etc. Details are outlined on the tuition page.
